Decide on how much time you’ll spend writing every day - and stick to it.

My writers from the Macbeth Adult Education Centre, beginners and advanced, every Wednesday 10am - 12pm, and 12:15pm - 2pm.

Human Stories . . .

Every second Sunday in the month, @wilde_foundation Human Stories Women’s Group meets up to listen to a ‘Living’ Book.

@mbekewinternational was the ‘Living’ Book for October, & everyone was pulled into her life of travelling the globe, the way in which she dealt with obstacles and the wealth of experiences she gained.

It was a day of real sisterhood energy, delicious food, shared knowledge & laughter.

Over the past five years I’ve attended many book & literary festivals as I can manage.

As the founder of the @hfwritersfest I like to support as many writers festival s as possible - especially when my literary heroes and sheroes are in attendance.

So, I jumped in a train & headed to Cheltenham Spa to see my literary shero.

It was an amazing & awesome experience watching @chimamanda_adichie in action at the Cheltenham Literature Festival.

She never fails to amaze me. Her warmth, humour, passion, humility transcends the stage and grips the audience. She’s an amazing storyteller.

I got the opportunity to give her a signed copy of my second novel, Love Again, which she says she’s looking forward to reading. I love that woman🥰

I also loved her take on older women and the experience & knowledge we have to share.

I’m use to standing in queues for hours just to get her to sign her latest book, & I meet some amazing folks standing in those spaces. Networking at its best 😂

Keep an eye on your wellbeing

In this chaotic & toxic climate we are experiencing, we’ve got to protect our mental wellbeing.

The hopelessness we can feel at watching genocide in Sudan, the Congo, Gaza and other countries can literally depress the hell out of you, despite doing what you can to oppose it.

So I took a refreshing short self-care break with some of my writing tribe to Morocco.
